Kate was outstanding. What a world-class professional to have right here in Brevard County! Kate is a true educator and artist. She shares her expertise in a way that is practical, encouraging, and inspiring. I learned a lot in a short time and really appreciated the hands-on guidance she provided. She helped each of us build confidence while still encouraging our own creativity and personal style. This was an excellent experience, and I highly recommend Kate and her workshops to any photographer looking to grow. I wish I could give more than 5 stars, and look forward to taking more sessions from her.

Kate did a very good job. She made the technical aspects of the class seem easy. She was also friendly and patient. However I thought the class was until 3:00 pm. It wasn?t her fault but I was expecting a little more. The other student thought the same.

Kate was great and explained everything really well. As a very beginner I did get lost and felt I was behind the other people, but I learn things about my camera and went out the next day and practiced, which was my goal.

I had an excellent experience learning photography with Kate. Kate is an outstanding photography instructor. She gave clear explanations with hands-on demonstrations that were easy to apply. I learned a lot and finally understand manual mode and how to use light intentionally instead of guessing. I highly recommend Kate to photographers at any level.

As a beginner photographer, this was my first event with your group. I enjoyed this event. One thing I am learning about photography is that even if I find the location mundane, something as simple as a rock can be profound if you find the right way to look at it.

So, I focused on the mother owl, since the group was preoccupied with the little ones, 60 feet away to get a better angle. The one thing that I love about photography is the willingness of complete strangers to share information on a good shot, or opportunity when you meet them in the field. I didn't loca

Title or Location: Fellsmere, Stick Marsh
I was looking to get some experience with my new lens, before attending the bird photography meet-up at Castaway Park. Since the stick marsh is closer to me, I thought that would be a good place to practice my panning technique, and get my settings dialed in so that I didn't go to the meet-up completely unprepared. This photo is one of the first photos taken during that practice session. Luck played a big part in getting this shot. 600mm, f5.0 ISO500, 1/2000th.

This image is a Still Life Composition of "Berries, Wine and Grapes" that I created on a rainy day in my bedroom. I used no fancy Studio Lighting at all. My only light source was a hand-held flashlight that I kept moving rapidly. It was an experiment in Light Painting when I couldn't go outside to shoot.
